How to read Transit in Astrology – Astrology is so vast, that I strongly believe that it is difficult to learn this subject in one life span. I remember that day when I first came across the phrase “Transit in Astrology”. My teacher said, the transit planets are just like a postman, who has come to deliver your packages. He had always practically explained astrological terms, through a story.
Who will get the package? Will everyone receive the same packet? Why did my neighbor get two attractive packets, and I despite waiting so much got only one small packet? So who is this postman? And from where he gets all the parcels.
This postman is merely doing his duty given to him by the higher authorities. He does not have the authority to give any parcel.
Similarly, a transiting planet is like a postman. And higher authorities are the MD and AD lords. If Saturn MD has decided to take you abroad, and Ketu AD planet also shows favorable combinations. Then the transit signs and star lord of Saturn and Ketu will finally make that happen.
What are Transit Planets
We know that the planets revolve around the Sun—– in a particular path, and this is called an orbit. All nine planets revolve at a particular speed. In my view, an Astrologer needs to know the position of each planet at any time. Because the transit position of planets gives results.
Though the transit of all 9 planets will fructify some events, Saturn and Jupiter’s transit signs will be considered every time, as these have a significant impact on our lives. Saturn – represents Kaal, he marks the Two and a half year time for any event, and Jupiter – Dev Guru then further blesses the event for one year.
I will explain the concept through an example chart, because Astrology cannot be understood, by reading the combinations only. This knowledge can be understood or even retained when you apply it to horoscopes on a daily basis.
How to Check Transit Planet Results
Before checking the transit position of planets in the horoscope, it is important to note the ongoing dasha period. Like in the figure above, we see MD – Mercury, AD – Venus, and PD – Jupiter.
MD planet set the trend in one’s life for a major period. This will decide the routine and occurrences as per their natural significance along with the KP coordinators. The AD planet is the most important as this marks the shorter timeline for any life event, and PD finally delivers the event decided by MD and AD planets. While making the KP script, it is important to understand KP rules, self-significators, cusp charts, and ruling planets.
Dasha and Transit planets in Astrology
We will discuss the above case study related to minor illnesses. Regarding minor illness, you should know that if the 6th house cusp script, gets active in the ongoing dasha, one will face illness.
Like in the horoscope above see the 6th house cusp, the sub-lord is Jupiter and its star lord is Saturn. So whenever Jupiter and Saturn’s timeline is active, this person will face illness. Now it depends if the disease is minor or major, and how one can recover. Either through rest at home, simple medication, change in lifestyle, surgery, or through treatment in a hospital. The KP script will give complete details of this.
As per the above horoscope timeline, this person is going through Mercury MD VenusAD, and Jupiter PD. As Jupiter had to give some illness, when Jupiter PD began, this person could undergo illness.
Transit in Astrology
Next will be the transit position of the planets. When disease-giving planets take the position of 6 8 12 or badhak in the horoscope, one can face health issues. Jupiter is in the 7th house in Pisces – badhak house and Saturn is in the 6th house of disease.
Since we are understanding the concept through KP Astrology, where the sub lord gives the final results. So if the disease-giving dasha is active, then the AD planet sign, star, and sub-lord will be checked. We see Venus with Rahu in Aries, the 8th house(pains and problems), and in Jupiter’s sub-lord. And MD planet Mercury is in badhak house, Pisces sign, along with jupiter, and in Saturn star and sub lord. So we see the transit of Saturn and Jupiter as stars and sub-lords and in disease houses.
MD – Mercury
- Mercury 1 10
- Sun 12
- Ketu 3 4 7 8 11
AD – Venus
- Venus 2 9 11
- Ketu 3 4 7 8 11
- Venus 2 9 11
PD – Jupiter
- Jupiter 3 4 7
- Saturn 2 5 6
- Venus 2 9 11
Conclusion
The above script states that one can face minor illness in Jupiter PD time. To narrow down further time we will check the presence of Saturn in the transit planets. We see the AD planet Venus in the 8th house, Aries sign, Ketu star, and the sub lord is Saturn. (Keep in mind the sub-lord changes very fast).
The script states that one will recover with medication, but since Saturn is involved and AD planet Venus is with Rahu, so both Saturn and Rahu can prolong the disease time. As we see 2 5 11 in the script, this shows recovery. So when AD Venus sub-lord – Jupiter changed to Saturn, he still faced issues but when Venus changed its sign to Taurus the person recovered from the disease.
This way you can check the timing of any event. But firstly the dasha period should completely support the event then you can check the transit planet position.
